Saving money on unused subscriptions

ScribePay is a financial technology company founded on the premise that subscription payments and management should be stress free. They want their members to have the freedom to trial new subscription services and leave the worries of auto-renewals and cancellations to ScribePay.

The challenge

The founders of ScribePay approached us back in 2021 with an idea for an app to stop people wasting money on unused subscriptions. Their initial goal was to create a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to demonstrate the feasibility of their idea and secure funding for further development.

What we delivered

As with most ‘ground up’ projects we started by conducting a discovery workshop with the founders. This is a critical early phase in the app development process, aimed at aligning our understanding of the business goals, user needs, and technical requirements. It helps in identifying key features, project scope, and potential challenges.

Following the green light on the requirements and the project roadmap, we embarked on developing a user-friendly, cross-platform mobile application utilising Flutter. The application empowers users to effortlessly track and manage their subscriptions, receive timely alerts about renewal dates, price changes, or the conclusion of free trials, and gain clear insights into their monthly expenditures.

Behind the scenes, we engineered a robust, serverless backend on AWS, integrated with third-party APIs, to provide a smooth interaction with the selected digital payment platform.

The results

The ScribePay app was successfully published on iOS or Android and has been embraced by thousands of users from all over the UK that have chosen to take control of their subscriptions.
